Yury Nozdrin
Born in Klaipeda in 1949.
Graphic artist, painter, book illustrator and calligrapher. Graduated in 1972 from the Moscow 1905 Memorial Art College and in 1980 from the Faculty of Artistic and Technical Design of Print Products at the Moscow Institute of Printing Arts. Worked for the Nedra, Nauka and Progress publishing houses, where he designed and illustrated more than 250 books. Designs ex-libris and creates unique books and playing cards. As a graphic artist, his main medium is hand-tinted etchings. Member of the Artists’ Union of Russia since 1985.
Yury Nozdrin has taken prizes at numerous international exhibitions and prestigious competitions for bookplates and small-format graphic art. His pictures, engravings and calligraphic works can be found in major private collections, museums and galleries both in Russia (St Petersburg, Yaroslavl, Saransk, Novosibirsk, Novgorod-Seversky) and abroad (the USA, UK, Finland, Italy and elsewhere).
