Pavel Yekushev
Born in 1961 in Gorky (now Nizhny Novgorod), Russia (then USSR).
Graduated as an engraver from an artistic metalworking college in 1980 and the Leningrad Vera Mukhina Higher College of Art and Design in 1988. Training master of the 1st category in the artistic metalworking department at the Saint Petersburg Stieglitz State Academy of Art and Design (the former Mukhina Higher College).
Master of various metalworking techniques (forging, chasing, engraving, galvanization, inlay work) and stone-carving. Works successfully as a medallist. Participated in the restoration of the Royal Gates in Saint Petersburg’s Church of the Resurrection (“Saviour on the Spilt Blood”). Participant in many exhibitions in Russia and abroad. In 1991, he was awarded a prize in the international Revival of the Medal competition organized by FIDEM – the Paris-based International Art Medal Federation.
His works can be found in the State Hermitage, State Russian Museum, State Historical Museum and others, as well as private collections in Russia and abroad.
