Pavel Tatarnikov (1953-2010)

Born in Leningrad, USSR in 1953. Died in St Petersburg, Russia in 2010.
  
Graduated in 1978 from the Graphic Art Faculty of the Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, having studied book illustration under Professor Gennady Yepifanov.

Professor in the Graphic Art Department at the Repin Institute (1982–2010). Member of the Artists’ Union of St Petersburg from 1985. Awarded a Diploma of the Russian Academy of Arts for his part in the exhibition entitled “The Art of the Handmade Book” at the State Hermitage (2000), the State Medal ‘Tercentenary of St Petersburg’ (2003), and the Gold Medal marking ‘250 Years of the Russian Academy of Arts’ (2007). Participated in numerous exhibitions in Russia, Scotland, Italy, Germany and South Korea.
  
His works can be found in state museums, including the State Hermitage and National Library of Russia, and also in private collections in Russia, the UK, Germany, Italy, Mexico, the USA and South Korea.
