This edition contains 21 graphic miniatures created by the artist Pavel Tatarnikov in the etching technique and tinted by hand. The noble austerity and refinement of the brilliantly executed images is the product of the organic combination of the biblical text and their creator’s unique artistic manner that incorporates traditional devices used in the mediaeval miniature and the Western European print.
The text was typeset by hand in the Palmira typeface and printed on a 19th-century Dingler hand press. The numbering of the psalms follows the Russian Synodal Translation.
The binding is made of leather and precious varieties of wood (mahogany, oak and ash) in two design variants. The front covers are adorned by metal engravings. The book has a storage case decorated with fabric.
