Mamia Malazonia
Graduated in 1962 from the set-design studio of the painting faculty at Tbilisi State Academy of Arts.
From 1969, he was Chief Artist of the Rustavi State Drama Theatre and the Marjanishvili State Academic Drama Theatre in Tbilisi; from 1976, Chief Artist of the Paliashvili State Opera and Ballet Theatre in Tbilisi. Worked at the Gruziya-Film movie studio. Artistic designer of more than 150 stage productions and 20 feature and animated films.
People’s Artist of Georgia and professor of Tbilisi Academy of Arts from 1983. Awarded Georgia’s Shota Rustaveli National Prize in 2003 and the Gala literary prize in 2007.
Mamia Malazonia began working in book graphic art in the early 1970s.
