Alexander Andreyev
Born in Rubezhnoe (Ukraine) in 1946.
Graduated in 1966 from the Savitsky College of Art in Penza and in 1973 from the Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in Leningrad, having studied under Professor Mikhail Taranov.
Graphic artist and book illustrator, professor at the Department of Drawing at the Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. Нead of his own teaching studio specializing in graphic art since 1982.
Member of the Artists’ Union of Russia since 1980. Received a stipendium from the Artists’ Union of the USSR. Won prizes at ‘Youth. Skill. Modernity’, a series of exhibitions/competitions held in Leningrad, won a Leningrad Komsomol prize, awarded a diploma by the Russian Academy of Arts. Took part in national, republican, and foreign exhibitions.
His works can be found in the State Hermitage Museum, the Russian Museum, the Museum of Political History, the Museum of Urban Sculpture in St Petersburg, and other museums in the Russian Federation, as well as in private collections in Russia, Australia, South Korea, and a number of European countries.
